Area Manager - GSF FC, Amazon Fresh, UPN1
Area Managers are responsible for all budgetary, people development, and operations objectives of our Amazon Fresh Fulfillment Center. Additional responsibilities include managing and leading a team of Team Leads, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations, and developing leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Drive creation of staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other change/Six Sigma initiatives to enable their Functional Area and meet/exceed Business Plan.
2. Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Area Managers.
3. Measure performance, provide feedback, and hold Team Leads accountable for their performance and their departments’ performance.
4. Work closely with support staff (HR, Financial, Facilities, S&LP, IT Managers) to secure support and resources for projects and initiatives.
5. Address operational and personnel issues affecting the functional area.
6. Identify and surface issues with potential to affect multiple functional areas, proposing solutions to Sr. Ops, GM, or HR.
Focus areas include safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity:
1. Review work forecasts and determine productivity requirements.
2. Partner with other Area Managers to balance labor and ensure efficient shifts.
3. Support safety programs and OSHA compliance.
4. Lead process improvement initiatives and Lean tools.
Basic Qualifications:
* 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
* Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
* 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques.
