As an Estimating Apprentice you will have the opportunity to build on academic studies while working and training with industry experts. Through this internship, you will assist the Estimating team in preparing project estimates, while working closely with project management, engineering and the production teams. At the completion of this apprentice program, you will be placed in a full time position within the estimating department. As Estimating Apprentice, you will be responsible for:
* Alongside an Estimating Mentor, reading architectural drawings, project renderings and specifications for job estimating.
* Participating in client and designer meetings to discuss project requirements.
* Assisting with building estimates for multiple projects; estimating labour, material and freight costs.
* Inputting and maintaining all quotes within the ERP system.
* Playing a role in the development of estimating standards.
THE SKILLSET:
* Pursuing a Project Estimating and Cost Management degree or related field.
* Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
* Experience with ERP systems would be ideal; ability to quickly learn and grasp new software.
* A positive attitude toward teamwork and strong relational skills.
* Strong attention to detail.
