General Practice TPD for the Sheffield & Barnsley training scheme
South Yorkshire - 1 role at 2 sessions per week, 1 role at 1 session per week (3 sessions available overall)

This is an exciting opportunity to take part in the development of Postgraduate General Practice and Primary Care Education throughout the South Yorkshire region of HEEYH. The postholder will work with the Deputy Head of School and other colleagues in leading the delivery of a wide range of functions to ensure the quality of training within the scheme.
Main duties of the job
GP Training Programme Directors are commissioned and appointed by Health Education England, working across Yorkshire and the Humber (HEE YH) to direct and manage specialty training placements and rotations across Local Education Providers (LEPs) and General Practices (GP).
The role ofTraining Programme Directoris to work with and support theHead of Schoolinleading the delivery ofa wide range of functions,aligned tothe Health Education England mandate.
TheTraining Programme Directorisprofessionally and managerially accountable to theDeputy Head of School.TheTraining Programme Directorwill focus upon improvement of learner supervision, assessment and experience, engagement of faculty and ensuring effective educational outcomes, both now and in the future. The role is evolvingand will also focuson whole workforce transformation and developing multi-professional links.

To support the Postgraduate Dean,Training Programme Directorswill work across the spectrum of health and where relevant, social care, within the context of a team, so that the provision of education reflects changing service models. This will deliver an integrated workforce comprising individuals from a spectrum of professional and other backgrounds.
As a provider of medical education and training, Training Programme Directors should undergo an annual appraisal, with feedback on involvement in postgraduate education and training provided by the Deputy Head of School.

6. Considerable experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context
7. Experience of clinical and educational leadership and innovation, including managing a multi-professional team
