Assistant Archivist
Location: Whitstable (Joseph Wilson Park)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (1 hour lunch break)

The Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Archivist to join a highly reputable law firm. Working as part of a small, supportive team, you will play a key role in managing the firm's archiving, document storage and internal office delivery services. For this role you must have a full, clean, UK driving licence.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and process Matter files and original documents for secure archived storage, following internal procedures and offsite storage systems.
* Update and maintain the firm's archiving databases and external storage records.
* Retrieve and deliver archived files and original documents promptly and securely.
* Arrange the collection and delivery of internal mail and confidential materials between branch offices.
* Provide holiday and sickness cover for the Archivist as required.
* Maintain the firm's vehicle to a high standard—keeping it clean, fuelled and roadworthy.
* Support general upkeep, safety checks and maintenance of the Whitstable unit.
Person Specification
* Organised, methodical and detail‑focused.
* Self‑motivated and comfortable working independently as well as in a small team.
* Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
* Physically fit and comfortable handling boxes and files in a warehouse environment.
* Confident in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Full, clean driving licence is essential.
Desirable Experience
* Previous experience in archiving, document management or a similar administrative/warehouse role.
* Experience working within a professional or legal environment.
* Familiarity with database systems or electronic document storage.
