Location: Royston
Salary: £90 – £110 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only (Monday to Friday)
Working Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (subject to variation of up to 45 minutes)
Overview
A welcoming and inclusive school in Royston is seeking a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs. Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN
Support pupils throughout the school day, including during lessons, break times, and lunch periods
Assist teaching staff in planning and delivering tailored learning activities
Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
Deliver personal care as required, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene
Follow the school’s “eyes on” policy, ensuring vulnerable learners are continuously supervised to a high standard
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to dynamic classroom and individual needs
Person Specification
The successful candidate must have previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in either an educational, residential, or care-based setting.
You will also:
Be confident in providing personal care with professionalism and sensitivity
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, patience, and empathy
Be highly vigilant and proactive, ensuring pupil safety and wellbeing at all times
Work effectively as part of a team, while also showing initiative and independence
Be adaptable, with a calm and resilient approach to challenges
Hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
Have permanent UK residency – this is essential
