Job Title: Care Assistant

Hours: Full-time / Part-Time
Location: Bablake House, Birmingham Rd, Millisons Wood, nr Coventry

A. Delivering Outstanding Person-Centred Care ('Caring' & 'Responsive') KLOE C2&R1, Reg 9&10
· Build warm, trusting, and professional relationships with clients and their families, understanding their life stories, preferences, and needs.
· Provide hands-on personal care with dignity, respect, and compassion, supporting clients with washing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, and toileting, according to their individual care plans.
· Actively encourage clients to maintain their independence by supporting them to do as much for themselves as they can and wish to do.
· Be an excellent companion: engage in conversation, share activities, and provide emotional support to combat loneliness and promote wellbeing.
B. Promoting Health, Safety and Wellbeing ('Safe' & 'Effective') KLOE S1-3, E3 & Reg 12-14
· Support clients with mobility, using appropriate equipment and techniques as trained, to prevent falls and promote movement.
· Assist clients with nutritional and hydration needs, including meal preparation, feeding support, and accurately recording intake when required.
· Act as a key link in monitoring clients' health, promptly reporting any changes in physical or mental wellbeing to the Team Leader or Senior Carer.
· Follow all safeguarding procedures to protect clients from any form of abuse or harm. You have a duty to speak up if you have any concerns.
· Maintain excellent infection prevention and control practices, including strict hand hygiene and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
C. Teamwork, Communication and Continuous Improvement ('Well-Led' & 'Effective') KLOE W1&4, E2, Reg 17&18
· Work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team, communicating effectively with colleagues at the end of your shift to ensure continuity of care.
· Accurately and promptly record care delivery and observations on our digital care system (MCM), following the principles of GDPR confidentiality.
· Actively participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and supervision to develop your skills and contribute ideas for improving our service.
· Uphold the values and reputation of Bablake House at all times.

Essential Criteria & How this will be assessed
Values & Attitude: A naturally caring, compassionate, and patient nature. A genuine passion for supporting older people. Shown through Application Form, Continuous Assessment.
Communication: Excellent verbal, written and digital skills in English. The ability to listen, show empathy, and build rapport. Shown through the Interview and References.
Mental Capacity Act & Consent: An understanding of the importance of consent and the principles of the Mental Capacity Act
Safeguarding Awareness: A clear understanding of safeguarding principles and the duty to report concerns.
Teamwork: A reliable, cooperative, and supportive team player. Shown through Interview and References
Resilience: The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure and when dealing with challenging situations. Shown through Interview
Right to Work: Proof of eligibility to work in the UK. Shown through Documentation
Desirable Criteria and How this will be assessed
Experience: Previous experience in a care setting. Shown through Application Form and Interview
Qualification: A Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards it). Shown through Certification
