Fund Financial Reporting Specialist (9 month FTC)

This team manages the end-to-end process for financial reporting and accounts for M&G's public, private, and T&IO fund ranges, overseeing third-party administrators, managing auditor relationships, monitoring budgets and ongoing charges, and supporting projects.
The role involves oversight of third-party administrators providing financial statements, liaising with external auditors, reviewing financial statements analytically, and supporting complex transactions like fund launches, mergers, and closures.
This is a 9-month Fixed Term Contract.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the analytical review of financial statements prepared by third-party administrators for various fund types.
* Ensure compliance of financial statements with accounting standards (e.g., UK GAAP, IFRS, Luxembourg GAAP) and regulations (e.g., COLL, SORPs, CSSF).
* Coordinate with auditors for efficient audit processes.
* Oversee controls at third-party administrators to ensure timely and accurate financial information, addressing any issues.
* Prepare and present memos to fund Boards, summarizing reviews and highlighting issues.
* Assess regulatory and accounting standard changes and their impact on financial statements, preparing relevant Board papers.
* Support investment and product teams on significant transactions and projects.
* Maintain close communication with teams to stay informed on fund operations.
* Prepare accounting papers for complex transactions or new asset classes to ensure proper accounting treatment.
Job & Personal Skills
* ACA/ACCA qualified accountant (or equivalent).
* Experience in financial reporting and statements.
* Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, AIC SORP, IA SORP.
* Beneficial: knowledge of Luxembourg GAAP, IFRS.
* Experience with statutory accounting and debt securities/derivatives.
* Familiarity with institutional and wholesale fund structures.
* Self-motivated with attention to detail.
* Strong analytical and communication skills.
* Proactive and flexible approach.
* Advanced Excel skills preferred.
