Hays Accountancy & Finance are supporting a Kings Lynn-based manufacturing business who are looking for an accurate, organised AAT student or candidate seeking their first permanent role in finance. This is a varied, hands-on position working with the sales ledger, credit notes and providing occasional cover for credit control and customer-facing tasks.
Your new role
In this newly created Accounts Assistant job, you will work closely with the Management Accountant in supporting them with sales invoices, raising credit notes as well as providing credit control cover. This is an ideal role for an individual who may be working in an account admin role or a finance graduate / AAT student looking for their first or next step into a 100% finance role.
1. Invoicing –pilepleted sales orders from daily dispatch reports and raise sales invoices in the Nav accounting system.
2. Order checking – Verify sales order details (product codes, serial numbers) before invoicing, which will require working closely with the Internal Sales Team and external logistics partner to confirmpleted orders.
3. Credit notes – Review instructions, reconcile with original invoices and process customer credit notes in Nav.
4. Credit control cover – Answer calls, take payments, assist with banking and customer queries when required.
5. Ad hoc tasks – Raise occasional ad hoc sales invoices and support other finance team duties as needed.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally, you will be studying AAT or a similar qualification (desirable), and seeking your first finance role provided you can demonstrate a desire to pursue a career in finance, as you may be in an account admin role but keen to develop your finance career. You will be confident with Excel, be highly organised and able to manage a varied workload as well as befortable working with figures.
