National Transport Manager – UK & European Operations - New!
Remote/mobile with regular UK site travel (4+ days/week)
Full-time | Permanent
£90,000 to £120,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits + Autonomy

This is a unique opportunity to lead a large-scale, multi-site transport operation—balancing strategic direction with hands-on, operational delivery.
The Role
We are seeking a National Transport Manager to oversee and optimise transport operations across a high-volume, multi-site distribution network. You will be responsible for managing a large fleet across a multi-site business function.
You’ll operate across two key mindsets:
* Operational – Driving daily efficiency, compliance, and service performance.
* Strategic – Leading transformation projects, system implementations, and aligning transport operations to long-term business goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead day-to-day national transport activity across multiple UK sites.
* Deliver continuous improvements in cost, service, and compliance.
* Develop and implement scalable transport solutions and strategy.
* Manage third-party and secondary haulier relationships.
* Lead system implementation or transition (e.g. Paragon, Delia, or similar).
* Manage large budgets (exceeding £100 million).
* Drive stakeholder engagement and cross-functional alignment.
Lead and develop a high-performing team:
* National Planning Manager
* 3x Transport Planners
* 4x External Logistics Partners
* Coordinate delivery from 26 production sites to locations across the UK and Scotland.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in a senior transport or logistics leadership role.
* Expertise in large fleet operations (700+ vehicles) and high-volume scheduling.
* Strong background in contract negotiation with third-party providers.
* Commercially astute, with experience managing large-scale budgets.
* Experience in national and European logistics is highly desirable.
* Practical knowledge of transport systems (TMS) and implementation.
* Strong leadership, process improvement, and stakeholder management skills.
* Comfortable being site-based 4+ days a week across multiple UK locations.
Qualifications
* CPC National – Essential
* CPC European – Desirable
* Business qualification – Degree or A-level equivalent preferred
