Overview
Siemens Smart Infrastructure is building a new team focused on power automation solutions; we’re looking for a Senior Solution Development Engineer to shape its future. This unique opportunity will allow you to influence architecture, processes and technology choices from the start while designing and developing innovative automation solutions that ensure reliability, scalability, and security for power systems. The role is largely based in Hebburn near Newcastle upon Tyne with hybrid working options and occasional travel across Great Britain & Ireland/
Responsibilities
* Design and develop end-to-end technical solutions for power automation projects.
* Support pre‑sales activities with technical expertise, demos and proof‑of‑concepts.
* Collaborate with sales teams, customers and solution engineers to deliver scalable and secure solutions.
* Stay ahead of technology trends and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
* Mentor junior engineers and support skills‑development programmes.
* Ensure compliance with Siemens quality standards and PM@Siemens processes.
Qualifications
* Degree‑level qualification (Level 6) in engineering or equivalent experience.
* Experience in logic development, systems integration or solution architecture.
* Knowledge of UK electrical transmission and industrial networks.
* Familiarity with Siemens Protection and Automation products (or other manufacturers).
* Strong problem‑solving skills and proficiency in Microsoft tools.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
