Requirements Essential (E) / Desirable (D) Assessment Method Application Form (AF) / Test (T) / Interview (I) / References (R Education & Qualifications Registered Midwife on NMC Register Post-registration qualification or evidence of further study to Degree level Evidence of continuing personal and professional development E E E AF AF AF/I Knowledge Knowledge of risk management and clinical governance and the relevance to practice Significant current experience within the field at Band 6 or above. Post registration experience of NHS Midwifery. In depth knowledge of Pelvic Health and the perineal care and OASI bundle. Awareness of National and local health policy relating to maternity and wider safety ambitions Awareness of national safety standards and reporting Understanding of the specialist role and the associated responsibility/accountability.

E E E E E E AF/I AF AF/I AF/I AF/I E Experience Involvement in the implementation of service improvements Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment. An excellent clinical record Evidence of delivering high quality teaching to staff groups E E E E AF/I AF/I AF/I AF/I Skills & Abilities Effective written communication skills including analysis and presentation of reports Ability to work using own initiative and as part of a MDT Able to give effective oral presentations when expressing ideas to groups or individuals Ability to analyse complex issues and make decisions Leadership and organisational skills Negotiating / influencing skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Logical approach to problem solving Ability to relate to groups and individuals at all levels Able to offer encouragement and support to others to foster both personal and professional development E E E E E E E E E E AF/I AF/I AF/I AF/I AF/I AF/I AF/I AF/I AF/I AF/I Work Related Circumstances Occupational Health Clearance Able to respond to the needs of the service, e.g. ad-hoc early / late meetings DBS Right to work in UK E E E E AF/R AF/I AF/I AF/I The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and promote safeguarding by implementing the Trusts policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately. If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.90.

This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary. In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.
