The role
As a Principal Systems Integration Engineer, you’ll lead the integration of complex hardware and software systems, ensuring solutions are delivered at pace and to the highest standards. This role offers a unique blend of technical leadership, collaboration and innovation working across the entire project lifecycle from bid through to delivery and support.
You’ll play a crucial role in delivering mission‑critical capabilities, influencing engineering standards and driving quality across multidisciplinary teams, all while developing your own leadership and technical expertise in a fast‑moving, high‑impact environment.
Day‑to‑day, you’ll be:
* Leading integration of hardware and software systems across complex projects
* Supporting bid activities, design development and end‑to‑end delivery lifecycle
* Coordinating and collaborating with cross‑functional engineering teams and stakeholders
* Driving engineering governance, standards and quality while resolving technical challenges
* Overseeing and mentoring multidisciplinary teams, promoting innovation and continuous improvement
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2‑3 days onsite, potentially to go up to 4‑5 days onsite.
Essential experience of the Principal Systems Integration Engineer
* Strong experience of integration of hardware and software
* Experience of BID support
* Strong stakeholder (both external and internal) management experience.
