£460.80 – £527.80 per week (based on 5 days worked and dependent on experience)

About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant in Caerphilly, you will work closely with teaching staff and specialist professionals to support pupils with a range of additional learning needs and disabilities.
You may support pupils with:
1. Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
2. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
3. Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
4. Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
5. Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
6. Complex Learning Needs
7. Sensory Processing Difficulties
8. Behavioural and emotional support needs
Your role will focus on helping pupils access learning, develop confidence, improve communication skills, and achieve their individual targets within a structured and nurturing educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
9. Providing one-to-one and small-group support
10. Supporting pupils with additional learning needs throughout the school day
11. Assisting teachers with classroom activities and differentiated learning tasks
12. Promoting independence, confidence, and social development
13. Supporting emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour strategies
14. Following individual learning plans and safeguarding procedures
15. Building positive and consistent relationships with pupils and staff
16. Supporting communication and sensory regulation programmes
17. Contributing to a positive and engaging classroom environment
Requirements
18. Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults is desirable
19. Previous experience supporting ALN, SEN, autism, or complex needs is advantageous
20. A patient, caring, and resilient approach
21. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
22. The ability to work effectively as part of a busy school team
23. Commitment to supporting pupils with diverse learning needs
24. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
25. CACHE Level 2/3, Health and Social Care, Supporting Teaching and Learning, or similar qualifications are desirable but not essential
