Job Description
The National Income Service (NIS) is responsible for sending over 100,000 invoices to customers and bringing approximately £450m of regulatory charges and fees income into the EA. It is the single point of contact for income with a focus on billing and debt activities across the organisation. Our ambition is “Funding Environmental Regulation by Maximising Our Income” and to modernise our income and “make it easier for our customers to do business with us”.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Billing Administrator to join the Regulated Industry Billing Team within NIS. The role will be part of a dispersed team and the successful candidate will work with colleagues across the country.

Supporting the Regulated Industry Billing Team, you will assist the drive to develop an innovative and resilient income service, alongside supporting our teams to be the best they can be. Building and maintaining strong relationships, focus on quality and performance, and sound communication skills are important.

Key Responsibilities
* Have great communication and interpersonal skills and be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal colleagues and external customers.
* Be resilient and able to flex plans to effectively manage and prioritise a varied workload.
* Focus on delivering good quality outcomes and be able to embrace and suggest new and innovative ideas.
* Be comfortable managing own workload while working as part of a dispersed team.
* Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel & Word.
* Be able to review and organise large data sets. Experience of billing activities and managing & reducing debt would be advantageous.
* Have a passion for ensuring accuracy, problem solving, and confidently delivering solutions.
Position Details
Full-time post with the possibility of part-time or flexible hours. The base location is flexible and subject to local facilities agreement. Travel to other Environment Agency offices or meeting venues may occasionally be required. The contract length is up to 12 months.
