We are driven by a clear purpose: to make the world a better homecombining technical excellence with a commitment to sustainability and responsible growth.At Saint-Gobain External Solutions, we bring together expertise, innovation, and collaboration to shape the future of building exteriors.Job TitleMaintenance TechnicianJob PurposeMaintenance TechnicianKey ResponsibilitiesTake responsibility for health, safety, and well-being to deliver a safety-first cultureBring a root cause-based mindset and culture to deliver high quality solutionsUndertake repairs, servicing, and maintenance of a wide range of production plant and machinery to the highest standard with work requests and pre-determine specificationsDesign, promote and carry out preventative maintenanceFault finding, testing and the removal or adjustment of existing fittings, fixtures, and partsAssist the Maintenance Engineer to ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained for all spare part lists and ensure that all necessary records are completed accurately.Adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems.Maintain collaborative working practices, building strong relationships with all internal stakeholders. Work closely with Production to prioritise daily workload and plant maintenanceManage breakdowns with urgency to minimise downtime, working outside of core hours, unprompted with the wider team where valuable to do soOwn a high-quality preventative maintenance schedule to reduce downtime, and achieve optimal levels of capacity and efficiencyHave the ability and confidence to make pragmatic decisions using knowledge, experience and judgementDemonstrate resilience and ambition to build and drive long term engineering excellenceAct as an ambassador for our company values and adhere to all company policies and proceduresQualificationsA 3rd level qualification in Engineering or similarHND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering, and/or time served Mechanical backgroundSkills & ExperienceA minimum of 3 years experience gained in a manufacturing environment, or similar roleExperience working with servicing, repairs and maintenance of plant machineryKnowledge of current H&S legislationRoot cause analysis & fault-finding experience on automated machinery & electrical systemsAbility to read, interpret and apply information from files, electrical drawings, catalogues, reports, and manualsExperience with 3 phase motors, electrical conveyors, belts, palletisers.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail, organisational, planning and prioritising abilityEvidence of delivering and maintaining a continuous improvement cultureStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a broad range of stakeholdersAbility to mobilise urgency and determinationStrong influencing skills with ability to influence upwards, downwards and laterallyComputer literate with Microsoft Office suitRequirementsAble to work flexible hours as requiredAble to work an on-call rotaAble to work away from home if requiredPossess a full current driving licenceSkills:Electrical Mechanical Manufacturing team playerBenefits:Performance Bonus Group Life Assurance pensionWHJS1_NI
