We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our Salaries team. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a busy and supportive environment, contributing to the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services across the University. This role comes at an exciting time, as the Pay and Pensions team supports a wider transformation within the HROSDS directorate. You’ll play a key role in ensuring payroll operations run smoothly while gaining valuable experience in a developing and forward-looking service. You will provide day-to-day payroll support, processing a wide range of payroll transactions including absence, timesheets, and contractual changes. You’ll work closely with Schools and Units across the University, ensuring all payroll data is accurate and up to date, and assist with payroll checking processes to support monthly pay runs. You’ll also respond to queries from staff and external bodies, delivering a high standard of customer service, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure deadlines are met and payroll is delivered efficiently. There will also be opportunities to support pensions administration during busy periods, giving you broader exposure across the team. We’re looking for someone who is organised, accurate, and able to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment. You’ll have strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Experience in payroll or administration is desirable,not essential as full training is provided, equally important is a willingness to learn, a flexible mindset, and a commitment to delivering a high-quality service. You’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive team, with opportunities to develop your skills and gain experience in a key operational area of the University.
