Overview
Rate of pay £14.82 per hour. We are looking for 1 or 2 Personal Assistants (PAs) to support a young autistic woman with cerebral palsy to lead her life. She wishes to become more independent and, in her 20s, wants to enjoy new experiences, meet like-minded people and make friends.
The young woman is engaging and outgoing. She uses a wheelchair to mobilise and is looking to build up her independence within the house, develop independent travel skills and gain confidence to access activities, college courses and volunteering.
Responsibilities
* Support the young woman to increase independence at home and in the community.
* Develop independent travel skills and assist with accessing activities, courses or volunteering opportunities.
* Help build confidence and social connections; support engagement with peers and new experiences.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Experience of working in social care is preferable.
* Understanding of cerebral palsy and/or autism is desirable.
* Access to a car and/or a driving licence is preferable as it opens up more possibilities to go places and do activities.
Hours and Application
The successful candidates would work 15-20 hours each week. However, this could be more or fewer hours, depending on availability and suitability of the individuals. Applications from people looking for 15 hours per week or less are welcome.
