About The Role
We have a rewarding and varied opportunity for a Community Based Dementia Adviser to join us covering Southwark and Lambeth. The successful candidate will deliver advice and guidance to people, families, and carers affected by dementia. Working as part of the Alzheimer’s Society Lambeth team and the Southwark and Lambeth Memory Service, you will support newly diagnosed clients to navigate support and services from the London Borough of Lambeth, who are referred to our service.
There is no direct care element to this role; however, we work passionately to provide advice, support, and guidance to people affected by dementia. This role involves supporting people in their homes through face-to-face, telephone, and virtual interactions to empower them with tools and knowledge for informed decision-making. Hours: 17.5 per week (hours to be agreed, between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday)
Contract: Fixed-term for 9 months
Location: Community-based with regular travel across Southwark and Lambeth
Interviews: 29 July 2025 via Teams
You will;
* offer vital, compassionate advice to support and guide those affected by dementia.
* provide community-based, face-to-face services for complex cases.
* manage referrals, assessing clients' information and support needs in a person-centred manner.
* signpost clients to other suitable sources of help when appropriate.
You will have;
* a passion for supporting people with additional support needs.
* ability to prioritise and manage your workload.
* adaptable communication skills for diverse audiences.
* IT skills for database management and record keeping.
* ability to travel across Lambeth and visit the service regularly.
