Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow (Higher ST3-5/ST6+) in Trauma and Orthopaedics. These positions are available from:
1. Posts 1, 2, 3: Available to commence 06 August 2025 and conclude 05 August 2026
2. Post 4: Available to commence as soon as possible and conclude 30 September 2025
Orthopaedic surgery in Cambridge has experienced significant developments, including the establishment of Cambridge as the Level 1 Trauma Centre for East Anglia and an increase in Consultant numbers. To support this, five new Middle Grade posts were created.
The department covers a broad range of Elective and Orthopaedic Trauma sub-specialties, including pelvic and acetabular trauma, frame surgery, spinal surgery, and paediatric orthopaedics.

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be on a parallel rota with current Registrars and will be encouraged to attend the regional training programme, subject to clinical duties.
Applicants must meet the essential criteria outlined in the job description, including:
* MRCS and current ATLS certification
* A minimum of 12 months experience in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery
Regular in-house teaching sessions are held, including daily Consultant-led trauma meetings and a weekly trauma 'grand round' to discuss complex cases.
Applicants must hold full GMC registration with a current license to practice at the time of application.

The applicant must demonstrate effective communication skills in English, as per GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must have IELTS/OET certification before obtaining a GMC license.
