Overview
Assisting the Commercial Finance Director and the North/Scotland Heads of Audit in managing the financial performance of the North and Scotland offices, this role focuses on strategic financial management, operational support, and collaboration with senior management to enhance service delivery.
Responsibilities
* Assist and support the Commercial Finance Director and North/Scotland Heads of Audit (LHoA) in managing the financial performance of the North and Scotland offices on strategic issues.
* Handle day‑to‑day financial management and provide relevant support, advice and guidance to the overall team within the business unit on financial matters.
* Collaborate with senior managers, directors and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively.
* Identify and highlight opportunities for enhancing delivery and providing additional services to organisations.
* Monthly travel to Leeds and Edinburgh as required.
Qualifications
* A commercial mind.
* Strong analytical skills.
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
* Ability to handle and process confidential information in a sensitive manner.
* Project management, team leadership and delegation skills.
* Strong leadership and influencing skills to engage, inspire and influence people at all levels.
* Operational skills capable of contributing to the strategic agenda.
* Partnership experience desirable.
* Proactive and self‑managed task performance.
Location & Travel
Role is based in Manchester with monthly travel to Leeds and Edinburgh expected.
