About the Multi-Skilled Engineer job Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the purpose of your role will be to assist in in all engineering activities - liaising with the internal departments to carry out installation, testing, operation, maintenance and repair of all facilities and equipment. Key tasks * Maintain all site electrical/mechanical equipment in relation to machinery, buildings, support services and utilities to the required legislative standards, safety, and business requirements. * Reactive maintenance to plant breakdowns and ancillary equipment, limiting production downtime to a minimum and proactive machine maintenance in accordance with the company’s schedule. * Identify areas of improvement and liaise with the engineering team to implement them as well as occasional installation requirements, though the job will be predominantly orientated towards maintaining machinery uptime. * Ensure planned maintenance tasks are carried out in line with the plan, safely, cost-effectively and to agreed standards and timescales, without compromising food safety or health & safety requirements. About You * Engineering qualification such as an apprenticeship with HNC, ONC or equivalent and Electrical or Mechanical engineering experience in food manufacturing. * Be able to rapidly diagnose and resolve both electrical and mechanical control and instrumentation faults. * Experience in working in a safe working environment and a permit to work, IOSH preferable. The site is in Kent and is commutable from Paddock Wood, Tonbridge, Pembury, Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells and surrounding towns.
