What will I be doing?
You will operate loading shovels, FLTs, and tele-handlers across the site, loading various types of vehicles such as curtain-sided vehicles, shipping containers, and bulk haulage walking floors.
The role involves:
1. Safely and efficiently operating fixed machinery, such as bailing machines.
2. Completing pre-operational safety and operator checks.
3. Performing daily checks and maintenance on mobile and fixed plant and equipment used at the facility.
4. Ensuring all waste deliveries comply with the site license and completing any associated paperwork.
5. Inspecting incoming products according to site waste acceptance criteria and reporting non-compliant loads.
6. Directing customer vehicles to disposal areas and assisting with off-loading as needed.
7. Ensuring compliance with material export requirements, including photos, paperwork, and container seals.
8. Assisting sampling operatives in collecting output samples.
9. Keeping the site clean and tidy, complying with all company and local procedures.
10. Assisting production staff during end-of-shift clean-ups and plant downtime.
11. Contributing to lean and 5S activities to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workplace.
12. Working as part of a team to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations, complying with health, safety, and welfare regulations.
13. Performing any other duties reasonably requested within the scope of the job role.
What are the requirements?
We seek an enthusiastic team player to join our current site team and help ensure site operations exceed standards.
You will require:
* Experience as a plant operator with relevant CITB/CPCS/NPORS certification or equivalent; training can be provided for the right candidate.
* A flexible approach to cover holiday and sick days if needed.
* A safety-conscious attitude and a desire to develop and embrace change for continuous improvement.
* Experience in the waste industry or high-volume production is advantageous but not essential.
