A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Inspector to join a well-established, multi-sector precision engineering business based in Gateshead. Our client is a leading manufacturer of high-quality components, supplying into industries such as Sub-sea, Oil & Gas, Rail, Marine, Furniture, Defence, and Aerospace. This is a key role within the quality team, ideal for someone with a strong eye for detail and a background in quality control within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Key Responsibilities: * Inspect machined, fabricated, welded, painted, pressed, and laser-cut components for quality compliance * Perform first-off, patrol, batch, and visual inspections using precision measurement equipment * Identify and report non-conformities, working closely with production and engineering to implement corrective actions * Maintain accurate records, including updating the ERP system * Contribute to the development of quality control processes and continuous improvement within an ISO-controlled environment * Produce First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) to customer specifications Requirements: * Previous experience as a Quality Inspector in an engineering or manufacturing setting * Proficient in using precision measuring equipment * Good understanding of ISO standards and quality management systems * Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills * Experience with CMM equipment is desirable * Competent in Microsoft Office; CAD knowledge advantageous What’s on Offer: * Competitive hourly rate (£16.00–£17.00 p/h) * Opportunity to join a company with long-term growth, stability, and a strong reputation * Supportive team environment and low staff turnover * Exposure to a wide range of sectors and high-spec projects * Professional development and career progression If you’re a detail-oriented Quality Inspector looking to take the next step in your career, we’d love to hear from you.
