Job Summary
The Senior Practitioner is responsible for leading a team of Support Workers and providing high-quality housing-related support services to customers in various properties within a geographical area. Working collaboratively with the Property team, the Senior Practitioner ensures that accommodation is safe, secure, meets customer needs, and complies with relevant housing, health, safety, and wellbeing regulations. The role also involves ensuring contract compliance, achieving key performance indicators, and delivering impactful, high-quality support services.
The Senior Practitioner and their team will deliver support activities focused on key outcomes such as improved mental health, reduction of criminal behavior, substance misuse support including harm minimization, enhanced life skills, positive behavior engagement, and independent living. The Senior Practitioner holds case management responsibilities for all accommodated customers and serves as the primary contact for system partners.
The postholder should be flexible to work across different sites based on needs and local requirements, adhering to contractual obligations and meeting customer expectations.
Person Specification (Essential/Desirable)
Experience
* Previous supervisory experience within supported accommodation or similar environments supporting vulnerable individuals or families facing financial hardship, homelessness, mental health issues, or substance misuse (E)
* Comprehensive knowledge of services for vulnerable populations and a strong commitment to safeguarding (E)
* Understanding of health and safety regulations applicable to supported accommodation and community settings, especially where lone working is involved (E)
* Experience working with internal and external stakeholders within a support framework (E)
* Experience in supporting team development and encouraging personal growth (E)
* Knowledge of recruitment, performance management, absence management, and other personnel processes (E)
Qualifications
* Knowledge of housing-related support or care/support environments (E)
* Education to Level 3 or equivalent vocational/life experience, with a commitment to pursuing Level 4 or 5 qualifications (E)
* Professional qualification in housing, social work, community work, or similar (D)
* Significant lived experience relevant to clients, such as substance misuse, welfare system, homelessness, unemployment, mental health, or financial hardship (D)
* Experience or qualification in training or helping others learn, such as train-the-trainer (D)

* Ability to travel across the area within a short timeframe (E)
* Valid driving license and access to a vehicle (D)
