Wood has an exciting opportunity for an Internal Communications Lead to join out team a 12 month contract working directly with our client on the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) and Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP) projects. This role offer hybrid working from the Sunbury office where 3 days a week in the office will be expected. We are open to either fixed term or contractor engagements for the role.

The Role
The Internal Communications Lead will coordinate all internal communication activities across the NZT/NEP projects. The role ensures consistent, accurate, and engaging messaging across all contractor organisations, strengthens alignment on project charter behaviours, and supports culture-building initiatives.
The role will work closely with the project management team to develop internal communication materials including emails, project updates and milestones, internal events including project town halls and reporting mechanisms to maintain high levels of engagement, visibility of progress, and delivery of key project messages.

Expected:
8. Proven experience in internal communications, stakeholder engagement, or corporate communications in a major project or industrial environment
9. Experience working in multi‑contractor or multi‑stakeholder environments, ideally within energy, construction, infrastructure, or similar sectors
10. Strong writing, editing, and content development skills
11. Experience developing communication plans, engagement materials, and/or campaign content
12. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, logistics, and production workflows
13. Experience coordinating events or engagement activities across distributed sites preferred
