To ensure that the principles that guide staff development reflect the Health Boards commitment to quality, safety and patient experience, and that these are embedded into clinical practice. To assist with empowering and enabling the ward/department teams to ensure that patient care is delivered to the highest standards of care, utilising research and evidence-based practice, in line with SBUHB Nursing Policies and Procedures and N.M.C. Code of Practice and professional standards and guidance.
Main duties of the job
Develop and maintain highly effective communication networks with key stakeholders (Heads of Nursing, Matrons, Sisters, Charge Nurse s, Clinical Educators and Mentors) to support and ensure development of professional behaviours and a range of knowledge and
skills for all staff
Develop, facilitate, deliver and evaluate along with other Practice Development leads and HEI providers, education and training for nurses midwives and Health care Assistants linked to Divisional/Area needs, and relevant standards, e.g. NMC Future Nurse: Standards of proficiency for registered nurses; Fundamentals of care, All Wales HCA induction, HCA Framework, Qualifications and Credit Framework Diploma.
Asses, plan, implement and evaluate teaching/ educational programmes for nursing and other clinical staff to support the implementation of change/development of core professional skills; and the development of evidence based practice initiatives in order to contribute toward the
achievement of excellent care for patients

Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential criteria
1. Registered nurse. BSc SCPHN School Nursing.
2. Teaching/assessing qualification to Postgraduate Diploma Level (Level 6) or equivalentr equivalent experience
3. Ability to travel within geographical area. Able to work hours flexibly
4. Satisfactory Enhanced DBS clearance including an Adults and Childrens Barred List check (as relevant to the Post)
