Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the integrity of the cargo.
Responsibilities
* Safely operate Skip lorries and ensure compliance with all traffic regulations.
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition.
* Load and unload cargo, securing it appropriately for transport.
* Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times while adhering to schedules.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel consumption.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
* Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle both inside and out.
Skills
* Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role within commercial driving.
* Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for driving flatbed vehicles.
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with team members and clients.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times.
