Position: Teaching Fellow / Lecturer in Occupational Therapy at Buckinghamshire New University (High Wycombe Campus). Part‑time (0.4/0.6 FTE) with a pro rata salary of £38,784–£43,482 per annum.

The role may be offered as either a Teaching Fellow or Lecturer depending on qualifications, experience, and career aspirations.

Responsibilities
Job Purpose: Deliver a first‑class student experience and undertake impactful research and knowledge exchange activities, lead curriculum development, support placements, and contribute to the wider university community.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
* Design and deliver high quality, innovative and challenging learning experiences, using current theory and practice.
* Undertake module leadership, curriculum development, personal tutoring, recruitment, assessment, review and evaluation.
* Contribute to the student experience with a focus on customer service, resolving issues.
* Engage with business and professional networks to promote teaching and research.
* Support students in supervising placements, learning in practice, internships and work‑related activities.
* Deliver pastoral care and project supervision of students.
* Plan and deliver the curriculum using appropriate media, including IT.
* Provide effective feedback, support and guidance to students to promote improvement of performance.
Research and Knowledge Exchange
* Conduct research and scholarly activity, plan to generate income and align research with teaching.
* Engage with business and professional networks, contribute to doctoral supervision.
* Publish peer‑reviewed outputs and contribute to research impact.
* Engage in external partnerships and contribute to the REF and KEF.
Learning, Teaching & Scholarship
* Undertake research‑informed teaching and manage all aspects of curriculum delivery.
* Deliver educational knowledge through peer‑reviewed pedagogical outputs.
* Engage with professional bodies, employers and other organisations to enhance practice.
* Provide feedback and guidance to students; support placements and internships.
* Participate in funded educational projects as required.
Leadership and Academic Citizenship
* Contribute to growth by increasing student recruitment.
* Active participation in business planning and strategy setting.
* Mentor, train and support CPD of others.
* Engage with policymakers and the regional community.
* Support peer review, external assessment and examination.
* Contribute to income generation and foster a culture of inclusion.
Other Duties
* Professional development activities (CPD, conferences).
* Open Days, Graduation events, marketing and promotional work.
* Commentator or contributor to media.
* Compliance with legislation and other requirements.
Person Specification
Education, Qualifications & Training:
* First Degree in a relevant field (A).
* Doctoral level qualification or equivalent experience (A/I).
* Recognised HE teaching qualification and/or Fellow of the HEA or evidence of commitment within two years (A).
Knowledge & Experience:
* Delivering an excellent customer experience (A/I).
* Expert knowledge in discipline/field (A/I).
* Specialist skills for courses taught (A/I).
* Delivering quality learning and teaching to students/apprentices (A/I).
* Excellent knowledge of MS Office (I).
Skills:
* Digital proficiency in Microsoft tools (A/I).
* High level of literacy and numeracy (I).
* Excellent presentation and teaching delivery skills (I).
* Clear communication orally and in writing (I).
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills (I).
* Flexibility and responsiveness to changing priorities (I).
* Excellent people skills (I).
Special Requirements:
* Willingness to work in off‑site locations (A).
* Willingness to contribute to Open Days (I).
