Work with York Limited is recruiting an ESOL Tutor to work in York City Centre venues for a local authority client. This part-time role offers up to 16 hours per week, up to four days, with hours agreed in advance with the curriculum manager. The assignment runs from September 2025 to June/July 2026. The pay rate ranges from £16.92 to £26.82 per hour.
Key duties include:
1. Planning lessons tailored to ESOL learners, including refugees with complex needs.
2. Delivering engaging courses for learners from Pre Entry to Level Two ESOL Skills for Life in multiple venues.
3. Assessing learner progress through internal and external assessments.
Qualifications and skills required:
* A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., CELTA, CertTESOL) and a degree in a related field.
* Maths GCSE or equivalent at Grade C/4 or above.
* Strong interpersonal, recording, and administration skills.
* Experience in community education and understanding of literacy challenges are preferred.
