We’re looking for an experienced Senior Planner to join a high-performing planning team delivering complex, long-term water infrastructure programmes. If you thrive on ownership, leadership, and driving programmes from concept through to completion within the water sector, this could be the role for you.
The Role – Senior Planner
You’ll take full ownership of one or more water project programmes, ensuring delivery teams remain aligned, informed, and on schedule. Alongside hands-on planning, you’ll play a key role in leading and developing a local planning team, setting standards and embedding best practice across the planning function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing and maintaining detailed programmes across the full project lifecycle for water infrastructure projects
* Ensuring scope, resources, logic, and dependencies are clearly defined and effectively managed
* Managing critical path, risk, change, and recovery strategies
* Producing high-quality programme narratives and reports for key stakeholders
* Maintaining robust baseline management, coding structures, and schedule integrity
* Mentoring and supporting junior planners to build a strong, collaborative planning team
What You’ll Bring as a Senior Planner
* Extensive planning experience within the water industry or similar regulated infrastructure environments
* Strong hands-on expertise with Primavera P6
* Proven experience leading or managing a planning team
* Confidence working with live programmes, claims, and contractual change
* Ability to communicate complex planning information clearly and credibly
* A calm, solutions-focused approach when working under pressure
