Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain software components within an enterprise-scale environment, ensuring solutions meet defined architectural, security, and quality standards. You will collaborate closely with architects, testers, and infrastructure teams to deliver robust, integrated systems that perform at scale and are ready for production use.
You will take ownership of your deliverables, contribute to continuous improvement across the software lifecycle, and be supported by experienced colleagues and proven delivery frameworks to help you succeed and grow.
Key responsibilities include:
-Design & Build secure, scalable software components aligned to architectural standards
-Collaborate & Integrate with architects and system integrators to ensure interoperability
-Develop & Maintain clean, efficient, and well-tested code
-Test & Resolve issues through performance testing, benchmarking, and troubleshooting
-Review & Improve code quality using version control and CI/CD practices
-Support & Document configuration management and environment setup
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
You will be an experienced Software Engineer with a strong background in designing and delivering enterprise-grade software solutions. You should be comfortable working across the full development lifecycle, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and applying best practices to ensure quality, security, and performance.
Essential qualifications and experience:
-Proven experience developing software in an enterprise-scale environment
-Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages
-Experience with APIs, system integration, and distributed systems
-Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated testing
-Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across multiple environments
-Experience working to defined security, performance, and compliance standards
