The Role
12-Month Fixed-term Contract
The Management Accountant reports to the Finance Manager and manages 5 direct reports. This role oversees the daily accounting functions within the finance department. A key aspect involves integrating two businesses, including teams, systems, controls, and processes, with an emphasis on efficiency, automation, and technology use. The role also promotes Nu-Heat values and exemplifies our Trademark Behaviours.
Working hours: 37.5 hours/week, Monday-Friday.
Work style: Hybrid working.
Responsibilities
* Managing and mentoring the finance team, supporting objectives, personal development, workload management, and process improvements.
* Supervising preparation of monthly trial balance, P&L, balance sheet, analysis notes, and weekly cash flow projections.
* Analyzing business performance and collaborating across departments to improve processes.
* Managing changes during the integration of two businesses, ensuring accuracy and consistency in financial systems and controls.
* Working with software providers to optimize system use, including migration projects into Netsuite.
* Assisting in budgeting and forecasting processes.
* Owning and enhancing the financial control framework, including month-end, reconciliations, and compliance.
* Supporting statutory audits and tax compliance (VAT, corporation tax).
* Performing ad-hoc financial reporting as needed.
The Person
* Qualified management accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or with relevant experience.
* Strong leadership skills, committed to coaching and supporting the finance team.
* Excellent systems knowledge, adept at change management.
* Proactive, organized, and diligent, with high integrity.
* Ability to collaborate across departments and build relationships.
* Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
* Proficient in Excel and ERP systems for reporting and data extraction.
