Your new companyA well-established higher education institution in Manchester is seeking an experienced and qualified Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to lead the delivery of high-quality grounds services across a large, varied, and prestigious campus estate.This long-term temporary role offers excellent stability and the opportunity to supervise a dedicated grounds team responsible for maintaining a safe, attractive, and sustainable outdoor environment for students, staff, and visitors.Your new role
* Supervise and coordinate a team of Grounds Maintenance Operatives, providing daily leadership, task allocation, and performance oversight.
* Ensure timely completion of grounds maintenance activities including mowing, pruning, hedge trimming, planting, weeding, litter picking, and seasonal tasks.
* Support the planning and delivery of landscaping projects, improvements, and planting schemes.
* Oversee the safe operation, maintenance, and scheduling of ground machinery and equipment.
* Conduct regular site inspections to identify issues, hazards, or required improvements and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
What you'll need to succeed
* Proven ground maintenance experience, including supervisory or team-leading responsibilities.
* PA1/PA6 pesticide application certification.
* Recognised horticultural or grounds maintenance qualification
