We’re partnering with a well-established and purpose driven Not-for-Profit at a pivotal stage of transformation, who are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join the Executive Team.
This is a genuinely strategic CFO role, combining financial leadership, investment oversight, and future growth strategy. You’ll play a critical role in safeguarding and optimising significant financial reserves, shaping long-term investment strategy, and ensuring the organisation’s capital is deployed responsibly, transparently, and in line with its mission.
The opportunity Executive ownership of financial strategy, controls, and performance
Oversight of investment portfolios (working closely with investment partners), asset allocation, and reserves management
Close partnership with the CEO and Board on long-term financial sustainability that encourages growth and scalability
Leadership of risk, audit, and governance frameworks
Influence over strategic planning, pricing, and organisational growth initiatives
Key player in the successful delivery of digital transformation initiatives
Key areas of focus Developing and executing investment strategies that balance return, risk, and liquidity
Stewardship of cash, reserves, and longer-term capital planning
Board-level reporting on financial health and risk exposure
Ensuring strong regulatory compliance and governance best practice
Leading budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling to support strategic decisions
About you Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
Significant senior finance leadership experience
Strong background in investment management, asset allocation, or reserve strategy
Confident operating at Board and Trustee/Committee level
Values-led, commercially astute, and comfortable balancing mission with financial discipline
Charity or regulated-sector experience is helpful, but not essential. They’re looking for the mindset of the corporate world, with the empathy required for a Not for Profit
Location & package Liverpool (circa twice p/w in office)
Salary, up to £125k + bonus
