<div><p>Applications are invited from highly motivated individuals to join the Learning and Development Department, working as a Learning Support Officer within the Initial Student Training and CPD Team based at Hethersett Old Hall, Hethersett, Norfolk.</p><p>This key role provides a single, consistent point of contact for student officers and trainers, ensuring training cohorts are coordinated, supported and able to progress successfully through their studies.</p><p>You will be responsible for the logistical planning and coordination of training for allocated cohorts, ensuring rooms, materials, equipment and personnel are in place for each lesson. Working closely with police trainers, Subject Matter Experts and Higher Education Institution partners, you will communicate key delivery information, support quality assurance of assessments and maintain accurate records of student progress.</p><p>A strong focus of the role is student support. You will monitor attendance, resolve timetable or rooming issues, and positively direct students to appropriate welfare, learning support and pastoral services when required. You will also assist trainers in lesson administration, including providing tailored support to students with specific learning needs.</p><p>The post will involve transporting and supervising student cohorts between learning environments and acting as role players during practical exercises. You will be flexible, professional and committed to equality, inclusion and health and safety.</p><p>This is a varied and rewarding role supporting the development of future police officers across Norfolk and Suffolk. This role requires high standards of behaviour, dress, and performance as you will be acting as a role model for the organisational values. You must be able to motivate your learners and meet high organisational standards while remaining flexible and resilient to unpredictable changes in schedules.</p><p>Hours of work are 18.50 hours per week with preferred days Monday, Wednesday, Friday, subject to flexibility. This post is offered on a permanent basis.</p><h3>Essential Criteria</h3><ul><li>Proven experience of maintaining accurate up-to-date databases and of handling confidential and sensitive information.</li><li>Ability to form strong working relationships with colleagues, internal customers at all levels and external suppliers to influence and implement continuous improvements of processes.</li><li>Ability to adapt positively to change, promote change and encourage a positive approach to others.</li><li>Proven experience of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular writing statistical reports and creating Power Point presentations.</li><li>Full driving licence and ability to travel within Norfolk and Suffolk and to other locations in the UK as required (training may be provided to the jobholder to drive personnel carriers which has a D1 licence category requirement).</li></ul><h3>Desirable Criteria</h3><ul><li>Relevant experience of working in a Learning and Development environment.</li><li>Knowledge of police training or wider delivery of educational learning.</li></ul></div>
