GSL Education are looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Burley. This role offers a valuable chance to positively influence the learning and personal growth of pupils who need extra support.
The SEN TA supports pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) by providing one-to-one or small group assistance tailored to individual learning requirements.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and speech or learning difficulties.
* Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
* Encourage pupils to engage positively in their education and develop essential social and communication skills.
* Support pupils in managing behaviour and emotions using patience and positive reinforcement.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to ensure consistent and effective provision.
Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Experience supporting children or young people with SEN or additional learning needs.
* A compassionate, adaptable, and proactive approach to working with pupils.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Confidence supporting children with additional needs such as autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, or social, emotional, and behavioural challenges
* Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students and staff
* · A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
To work with GSL Education as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you should:
* Have the right to work in the UK.
* Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
* Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
