The Sr. Director of On-Prem Hosting will set the vision and drive the strategy to deliver enterprise on-prem services for GE Aerospace. In this role, you will lead a global team of Service Owners, Architects, and Engineers to design, build, and operationalize all aspects of On-Prem Hosting services. You will partner closely with stakeholders across Aerospace DT to develop a comprehensive view of our infrastructure services and drive the future direction.
Responsibilities
 * Deliver scalable, highly available and secure strategic Data Centre services
 * Deliver scalable, highly available and secure strategic Edge Compute (GE site) services
 * Lead a global team of Service Owners, Architects, and Engineers to design, build, and operationalize all aspects of On-Prem Hosting services
 * Establish and drive the infrastructure vision for the Aerospace business across on‑prem Hosting, Compute, Virtualization, Edge, Storage and Data protection
 * Prioritize execution with business demand. Manage across the Aerospace DT Matrix
 * Partner with Aerospace DT to create shared strategic roadmaps and communicate to the business for awareness and adoption working very closely with key partners like Site Services Leadership, CTO communities and Cyber leadership
 * Demonstrate very strong technical leadership and people management skills including solid communication and analytical skills with thorough understanding of successful problem definition, decomposition, estimation and resolution
 * Build, coach, mentor, and lead a world class On‑Prem Hosting team
 * Manage capacity, velocity, and backlog across multiple teams to ensure business priorities are met while minimizing or eliminating technical debt and risk across assets
 * Create a consistent communication rhythm on organization and operations status, keeping IT leadership, application owners and functional partners in sync with overall initiative outcomes, establishing a full wing‑to‑wing operational support model
 * Plan and manage budgets related to scope of team
 * Lead the vision and strategy of managed services teams that underpin the operational services of On‑Prem hosting and delivery
 * Communicate effectively both within immediate team and GE leadership
 * Ensure the team receives consistent messages and has clear understanding of business direction, strategy and results
 * Establish and foster a work culture at all levels that is positive, collaborative, diverse, inclusive, respectful, innovative, dynamic, with high integrity, and capable of driving positive change over sustained periods of time
Qualifications
 * Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. Please see BPSS for further details.
 * Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in computer science or STEM majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with relevant industry experience, or equivalent via military experience.
 * 10+ years managing or leading Infrastructure services.
 * Relevant and recent experience leading global teams of diverse technical skills.
 * Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience, OR associate's degree with a minimum of 13 years of professional experience, OR High School Diploma with a minimum of 15 years of professional experience.
 * Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources.
 * Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer, builds strong customer relationships, and partners with customers to help shape their future initiatives.
 * Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills – communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information/data to make decisions, anticipates obstacles, and develops actionable strategies.
 * Change oriented – actively generates process improvements, champions and drives change initiatives, confronts difficult circumstances creatively, and balances multiple priorities to execute accordingly.
