Planing Officer - Northern Ireland Housing Executive - Derry or Ballymena

We are recruiting on behalf of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive for a Planning Officer to join the team in either Ballymena or Derry. This role will be full time temporary, ongoing. 1. £ per hour
2. Location: Derry or Ballymena (dependent on successful candidate)
3. Monday to Friday am - pm
4. 37 hours a week
5. Holidays: 35 days pro rata
6. Duration: Temporary, ongoing

Main Responsibilities of the Role:
8. To provide a professional town planning service and contribute to the delivery of community planning and housing priorities to build sustainable communities through effective place shaping and land use in line with our vision and values.
9. To support the Social Housing Development Programme by identifying and supporting schemes in areas of Housing Need.
10. To undertake land asset activity, with an emphasis on evaluation, broader estate studies, support for Transfer Schemes and related planning applications.
11. To assist in housing led regeneration and provide a local enabling role to support delivery of new housing development including mixed-use and mixed tenure neighbourhood.
12. To undertake Site Identification Studies and Feasibility Studies in areas of high housing demand and rural areas identified for unmet need.
13. To provide town planning advice to the Housing Executive.
14. To complete Housing Market Analysis and Housing Need Statements.
15. To ensure the annual production of Housing Investment Plans.
16. To liaise with local stakeholders to ensure holistic delivery of housing-led regeneration programmes.
Essential Criteria:
17. Hold an RTPI accredited planning qualification, OR an equivalent which is accredited by an appropriate professionally recognised organisation IPI or RICS (P&D).
18. Demonstrate at least one years' relevant experience of working in a planning/regeneration environment.
19. Demonstrate proficiency in the use of GIS for planning projects.
20. Possess a full current UK driving licence or have access to a form of transport that will permit the candidate to meet the requirements of the post in full.
21. As part of the reference checking and vetting process for this position you will be requested to undertake a Basic AccessNI Disclosure. Having a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position.

Desirable Criteria:

22. Candidates should ideally be members of the RTPI (or of an equivalent professionally recognised organisation IPI, RICS -P&D etc.) or in the process of developing relevant experience towards membership of the RTPI, IPI RICS (P&D) etc
