The School of Psychology, Sport Science & Wellbeing at the University of Lincoln, ranked among the Top 40 in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework, is seeking two lecturers with expertise in psychological health & wellbeing and forensic psychology. Our research has international significance and real-world impact, and we are an expanding, dynamic school within a reputable university.
Roles and Responsibilities
These roles involve contributing to established research groups, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, developing a personal research agenda, and engaging in scholarly activities that support the university's research strategy. Specific responsibilities include:
* Conducting research aligned with the respective research group (Psychological Health & Wellbeing or Forensic & Crime).
* Teaching and supervising students at various levels.
* Publishing high-quality research and preparing for future REF submissions.
* Participating in staff development and university activities.
Qualifications and Skills
Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant field, demonstrate a strong research trajectory with a publication record, and possess effective teaching skills. They should be team players capable of leading research initiatives and contributing to a thriving research culture.
Research Areas of Interest
For the Psychological Health & Wellbeing role, preferred research areas include:
* Access and delivery of mental health services, especially in rural/coastal areas.
* Psychological processes affecting mental health, resilience, trauma, etc.
* Suicide prevention, digital mental health, and implementation science.
For the Forensic Psychology role, preferred research areas include:
* Attitudes towards offenders and reintegration.
* Gambling, addiction, and risk management.
* Assessment and treatment of offending behaviors, occupational stress, trauma resilience.
* Understanding offending behaviors and evaluating rehabilitation services.
Additional Information
The positions are full-time, permanent, with a salary of £38,249 per annum. The roles are based in Lincoln, a historic city, and the school promotes diversity and inclusion, holding an Athena SWAN Silver award.
