Location
Aberdeen City, within the Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership (ACHSCP). Specific practices and locations may change.
Hours
Full time – 36 hours per week. Four days per week (28.8 hours) may be considered.
Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our expanding Primary Care Pharmacotherapy Team. The successful candidate will be employed to work within the bounds of Aberdeen City and specific practices/locations may be subject to change.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with pharmacy colleagues to support the delivery of the pharmacotherapy service outlined in the 2018 GMS Contract for Scotland.
* Conduct medication compliance reviews.
* Deal with pharmaceutical queries (e.g. shortages).
* Perform medicines reconciliation and provide medication management advice for patients and carers.
* Work on various aspects of medicines management to ensure safe and effective use of medicines in line with local and national guidelines, including formulary adherence and review of prescribing data.
Qualifications and Skills
* Current registration with the GPhC.
* Background in primary care, community or hospital pharmacy is desirable.
* Good communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
* Full driving licence and personal vehicle; ability to use a car for duties.
* Willingness and ability to work within the Aberdeen City Low Emission Zone (LEZ); if non‑compliant vehicle is used, the holder of the licence will be responsible for associated costs.
