PreCon Talent are currently assisting a highly regarded main contractor with their search for an experienced residential (construction) estimator to be based from their office in Hertfordshire.
The ideal candidate will have between 5 and 10 years of experience of working for a main contractor or developer in the UK - specialising in residential construction (new build, regeneration).
Reporting to the Estimating Director - the estimator will be responsible for appropriately evaluating the cost of a project, and evaluating the cost to take on that project - progression to senior estimator level is available within the business.
Responsibilities
* Maintain knowledge of competitive advantages in the industry to aid bidding process
* Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analysing information
* Obtain accurate quotes for materials and systems to establish accurate cost estimates
Ideal Candidate Experience and Education
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or similar
* Solid understanding of UK housing market and different house building techniques
* Familiarity with Conquest Estimating Software
