A leading fresh produce business is seeking a Key Account Manager to play a pivotal role in driving mutual growth with major customer accounts. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of strategic relationships, lead cross-functional collaboration, and deliver profitable growth opportunities while developing strong partnerships with retail clients. This role sits at the heart of the company’s growth strategy, consolidating initiatives across a vertically integrated business and enhancing service delivery to key customers. Key Responsibilities: * Account Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty. * Sales Growth: Develop and execute strategic sales plans, identify and capture new business opportunities, and manage the tender process to deliver profitable growth. * Customer Insights: Analyse customer needs, market trends, and competitive dynamics to provide data-driven solutions and become a trusted insights partner. * Negotiation: Lead contract and pricing negotiations to deliver win–win outcomes. * Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams across commercial, production, technical, and sustainability functions to ensure seamless delivery and maximise value from customer partnerships. * Reporting: Monitor and report on account performance, sales activity, and market trends to senior management. About You: The ideal candidate will have: * A proven track record in key account management, ideally within fresh produce or FMCG (minimum five years’ experience). * Expertise in managing budgets and trade revenue to deliver strong ROI. * Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and communication skills. * Advanced IT skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, and planning software. * A flexible approach to work, including willingness to travel extensively to visit suppliers and cover occasional weekend requirements. * A clean UK/EU driving licence. Personal Qualities: * Commercially savvy with a solutions-oriented mindset. * Able to thrive in a fast-changing business and regulatory environment. * Strong collaborator and influencer, comfortable working with multiple stakeholders across departments.
