Here at Rainbows Children's Hospice, we provide specialist palliative care and end-of-life support to over 750 Babies, Children, and Young People living with life-limiting conditions and terminal illnesses, as well as approximately 3,000 people, including families, siblings, and carers, across the East Midlands. Simply put, we're here to brighten short lives and support families, wherever they are.
We're looking for a passionate Complementary Therapist to join our team on a part-time basis, providing support across our Hospice, hospitals, and community settings. In this vital role, you'll offer therapies such as aromatherapy, reflexology, baby massage, Indian head massage, and positive touch treatments to help care for babies, children, and young people receiving palliative and end-of-life care.
Location: Based at Rainbows Hospice with the requirement to travel within the community and to hospitals across the East Midlands, covering Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire. Therefore, a driving license is required for this role.
Hours of work: This is a part-time role, working 15 hours per week, scheduled between Tuesday and Thursday. There is also a requirement to cover one weekend shift every four weeks as part of a rota.

About the role
Some of the key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
* To provide complementary therapy treatments to babies, children, young people and families at the hospice, in their home environment or in hospitals.
* To provide complementary therapy treatments for babies, children or young people such as positive touch during end of life care.
* To work efficiently and effectively, using technology as appropriate, to ensure data and records are accurately recorded on SystmOne.
* To undertake assessments of clients' Complementary Therapy needs as required.
* To be aware of contraindications or precautions for the therapies practiced and adapt treatments accordingly.

Essential Requirements
* Significant experience of providing complementary therapies to babies, children and/or young people with complex needs, life limiting conditions or terminal illnesses
* Level 3 (or above) Diploma in massage
* Membership of the appropriate governing bodies for the therapies practised and the commitment to the CPD requirement of those bodies
* Hold your own insurance to practice complementary therapy
* Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Requirements
* Experience of providing complementary therapies to babies, children and/or young people affected by life-limiting conditions or terminal illness
* Hold a UK driving licence
