Art Teacher – Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)

Contract: Temporary (via The Education Specialists)
Pay: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)
The Education Specialists are currently seeking a passionate and resilient Art Teacher to work within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Greater Manchester, starting as soon as possible.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require additional support outside of mainstream education.
The Role:
As an Art Teacher within a PRU setting, you will:
- Deliver engaging and creative Art lessons to small groups of students
- Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of learning styles and abilities
- Build strong, positive relationships to encourage engagement and trust
- Manage behaviour effectively using a calm, consistent approach
- Promote creativity as a tool for expression and personal development
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching experience
- Experience working with challenging behaviour, PRU, or alternative provision (highly desirable)
- A strong understanding of SEMH needs
- Excellent behaviour management skills
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
