11 Tutor | Gillingham, Kent | Part Time, 5-15 hours per week | FTE £18.00 – £25.50 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications Our client is a non-profit making organisation which focuses on offering quality Accountancy, Health Care and other specialist training courses. They are seeking a highly skilled and passionate tutor to join their team in supporting students in Maths and Non-Verbal, and English Verbal. This position would best suit someone with a bubbly personality, able to work with children in providing one-on-one teaching in a given subject. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on learners' academic growth and success. The 11 Tutor will report to the Head of Centre with responsibility for assessing and enhancing learners' level of education in a given subject area and supporting their preparation for set exams. Please note- this role requires regular travel within your designated area. Occasionally, you may also need to travel to the main office or other locations as required by the job. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Previous experience tutoring or teaching children or young people is preferred Skilled in planning and scheduling appropriate work for individual learners Expert knowledge of the subject area being taught Capable of motivating students to engage in learning Patient and understanding Adaptable to different learning styles Confident in supervising students and serving as a positive role model Able to provide constructive and encouraging feedback on personal care Proficient in delivering both online and face-to-face sessions simultaneously, ensuring active participation from all learners A DBS check at an enhanced level (formerly CRB check) must be undertaken What will your role look like Initial assessments: assessing learners on their existing ability in a subject area Creating lesson plans, creating and delivering a schedule for further education and development in subject areas Assessing a student's level of progress within a subject and identifying areas for improvement Developing, assigning and reviewing learners' homework assignments and test scores and working through problem questions that the learner did not answer correctly Providing mock exams or tests to prepare the student for actual exams Fostering a positive and supportive learning environment to encourage learner engagement and motivation Teaching group and individualised sessions, applying creative teaching skills and materials to enhance a fun and progressive learning environment Keeping up-to-date on the current curriculum and latest teaching trends Maintaining an excellent knowledge of the subject being taught Communicate effectively with learners and parents regarding progress, goals, and areas for improvement or challenges and give needed feedback Monitor, update and track learners' progress using a mix of online and offline tools and adjusting teaching methods accordingly to ensure academic improvement What can you expect in return? 20 days plus 8 Statutory Bank Holidays Employer Pension contributions What's next?
