About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our finance Order to Cash (O2C) team as a Cash Management Finance Assistant. You will oversee and optimise the management of incoming cash flows and ensure accurate reconciliation. You will collaborate with multiple departments to ensure that receipts are reconciled correctly, contributing to the overall financial health of the organisation. This role offers the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of our business and is suited for someone looking to grow their skills within finance.
You will work in Enterprise Finance Services (EFS), which sits within the wider finance team, reporting to the Finance Manager.
Key responsibilities of the role:
1. Cash Application: Process incoming payments from customers, ensuring accurate and timely application of cash to customer accounts. Reconcile payments against open invoices, escalating discrepancies for payment-related issues.
2. Store Account Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of store accounts, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are promptly investigated and resolved.
3. Reporting and Reconciliation: Prepare and maintain cash management reports and KPIs to assess cash management practices. Reconcile bank statements with accounting records, ensuring proper treatment for all cash transactions.
4. Collections Support: Support the collections team with accurate payment status and open account balances. Assist in resolving discrepancies between payments received and outstanding receivables.
5. Customer and Internal Communication: Communicate effectively with customers to resolve payment issues. Collaborate with departments (Sales, Customer Service, Credit Control) to resolve payment or order issues.
6. Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulations related to cash management and receivables. Assist with audits by providing documentation and support.

It would be advantageous if you also have:
* Previous SAP experience
* A foundation-level qualification in finance
* Minimum 1 year experience in cash management, accounts receivable, or finance operations
