Job Title: TAX Manager (Manchester / Leeds / Greenford - Onsite)

Are you ready to take your career to the next level? Join the Global Education Group as a TAX Manager and play a pivotal role in our exciting expansion both in the UK and internationally! You will be an integral part of the Group Tax Team, collaborating closely with the Group Head of Tax.
Your main focus will be leading VAT and indirect tax compliance for our operations, ensuring we minimize costs and risks while providing expert guidance on complex VAT matters. You’ll work alongside colleagues across various departments, ensuring compliance with tax legislation and enhancing our processes.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Lead the preparation, management, and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reporting, filing, and payment requirements.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders to continuously improve systems and processes, ensuring compliance with legislation and deadlines.
* Provide expert support and guidance on tax aspects of activities across the group, including risk management and cross-border tax support.
* Monitor compliance related to overseas activities and online learning, developing and implementing necessary processes.
* Engage in system development to maintain robust tax accounting records and ensure data accuracy across financial systems.
* Proactively manage the Group’s VAT exposure through regular reviews and appropriate VAT groupings.
* Assist the Group Head of Tax in training and developing finance staff to recognize when specialist tax support is needed.
* Liaise with external advisors, HMRC, and actively participate within the sector.
* Collaborate with the Group Head of Tax on broader taxation issues affecting the Group.
* Perform any other duties appropriate to the grade as required.
Requirements
Essential
* Qualified accountant and/or tax advisor with significant post-qualification experience in VAT, corporation tax, and employment taxes within UK tax compliance and advisory, ideally in a complex organization.
* Proven experience in identifying and implementing system and process improvements.
* A proactive, self-motivated individual with commercial awareness and the ability to work collaboratively across organizational boundaries.
* Strong communication skills, with a passion for finding practical solutions and helping others learn and develop.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to continuous personal development.
* Excellent management, planning, and organizational skills, adept at handling conflicting workloads and priorities.
* Good IT skills, highly proficient in Excel, with experience in working with a large ERP.
Desirable
* Experience in the education sector.
* Knowledge and experience of overseas taxes.
* Familiarity with Unit 4 ERP.
