Responsibilities
1. Preparing and contributing to tender cost plans and project handovers
2. Reviewing, interpreting and negotiating contract terms (JCT/NEC)
3. Managing the day-to-day commercial and financial aspects of multiple contracts
4. Pricing variations and preparing payment applications
5. Compiling and submitting monthly valuations in line with contractual timescales
6. Procuring subcontractors, negotiating packages and placing orders
7. Managing subcontractor accounts, variations and final accounts
8. Monitoring budgets, cost control and forecasting cash flow
9. Identifying and managing commercial and contractual risks
10. Conducting regular site visits to assess progress and ensure accurate valuations
11. Liaising with clients, architects, engineers and site teams to maintain strong working relationships
12. Maintaining accurate financial records, reports and documentation
13. Supporting programme delivery, resourcing and overall contract performance
Requirements
Essential:
14. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or similar commercial role within construction
15. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, particularly JCT and/or NEC
16. Experience managing subcontractor procurement and accounts
17. Ability to prepare cost reports, forecasts and cash flows
18. Excellent numerical, negotiation and problem-solving skills
19. Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
20. Well organised with the ability to manage multiple projects
21. Proficient in Microsoft Office
22. Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
23. Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline
24. Professional membership or working towards RICS, CIOB or similar
25. Experience within refurbishment or specialist subcontractor environments
26. CSCS or relevant health and safety training
