Advisory Software Solutions Lead, GB & Ireland

Department: Advisory

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Oxford, UK

Reporting To: TBC

Description

Based in Oxford, you will be a senior member of Aurora’s GB & Ireland advisory team, playing a leading role in a rapidly expanding software-enabled advisory offering. You will help shape and deliver advisory mandates that integrate Aurora’s proprietary software, models, and datasets as core infrastructure for client decision making.

You will take ownership of complex, commercially important engagements — from originating opportunities to delivering high-quality outputs — working closely with both the advisory and software commercial teams. A key focus of the role is identifying and converting software adjacent advisory opportunities, particularly across BESS, renewables, and corporate PPA structures, and positioning Aurora’s integrated software–advisory model as a differentiated alternative to traditional consultancies.

You will have outstanding knowledge of the GB power market, which will enable you to manage and mentor junior colleagues, guiding analytical work and ensuring insights are robust, strategic, and clearly communicated to senior stakeholders across developers, investors, lenders, and corporates. You will also represent Aurora externally, contributing to thought leadership and senior client conversations at the intersection of software and advisory.

This role suits an experienced consultant (typically 5–10 years’ experience) from a top tier consultancy, energy company, financial institution, or software enabled commercial environment. Successful candidates will combine strong analytical capability with commercial fluency, stakeholder confidence, and a track record of delivering high-quality strategic work in team-oriented settings.

Key Responsibilities

* Leading advisory projects for our clients, across a diverse range of energy transition technologies, business models and strategies, including planning out the work of the team and ensuring we maintain rigorous standards of analysis and clear communication of insights
* Line management of junior analysts in the team to help them develop and coaching/managing analysts within a project
* Business development
* Originate and convert software enabled advisory mandates — lead client conversations that position Aurora’s integrated software–advisory model as a compelling alternative to traditional consultancy, with a particular focus on BESS, renewables, and PPA structures across developers, investors, and lenders.
* Build a pipeline of software adjacent advisory opportunities — proactively identify where Aurora’s existing software client base represents untapped advisory potential; partner closely with software commercial teams to convert platform users into advisory clients and expand overall account value.
* Represent Aurora at the software advisory frontier — attend industry events, contribute to client facing thought leadership, and engage in senior commercial discussions articulating how Aurora’s proprietary models and datasets deliver a structurally differentiated advisory offering.
* Project delivery
* Lead delivery of software enabled advisory mandates — take end-to-end ownership of complex engagements, embedding Aurora’s power market models and datasets as core infrastructure for valuations, revenue forecasts, and transaction support.
* Set and maintain Aurora’s quality standard — act as the senior signoff on client deliverables, ensuring analysis is rigorous, well communicated, and reflective of Aurora’s market credibility across BESS, renewables, and corporate PPA asset classes.
* Scale delivery through replicable, software backed frameworks — collaborate with the wider advisory team to create standardised analytical approaches and repeatable project templates that leverage Aurora’s platform, improving delivery efficiency and reducing reliance on bespoke modelling.
