Our client, a leading Ground Support Equipment (GSE) organisation at Heathrow Airport, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Safety, Compliance & Quality Deputy. This is a key role, supporting the Head of Safety, Compliance & Quality to ensure the business consistently meets, and exceeds, all necessary regulatory standards (CAA, EASA, FAA - Part 145 & Part 21).
The successful candidate will play an active part in maintaining regulatory oversight, auditing internal functions, liaising with regulatory bodies, and driving continuous improvement in compliance and safety culture across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Oversight & Administration
Carry out the administration of regulatory oversight to ensure compliance with all applicable standards across the organisation.
Oversee processes and documentation for audits, training, competencies, and human factors.
Support the planning, scheduling, and reporting of audits, findings, and training requirements.
Ensure effective documentation control in line with Part 145 and Part 21 regulations.
Operational Duties
Act as the "go-to" person for all Safety, Compliance & Quality issues for both internal teams and external clients.
Conduct auditing of Airbase GSE sites as required, maintaining high quality and regulatory standards.
Support and deputise for the Head of Safety, Compliance & Quality when required.
Attend and contribute to Quality Assurance meetings (internal and external).
Liaise regularly with regulatory bodies, clients, and internal departments to ensure alignment and compliance.
Part 145 / Part 21 Specific Duties
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Part 145 and Part 21 regulations.
Report on compliance and safety matters to the Head of Safety, Compliance & Quality (or Accountable Manager in their absence).
Guarantee that the quality of workmanship in final products is acceptable to both the organisation and regulatory bodies.
Ensure the competence of all personnel through records management, training programmes, on-the-job instruction, and evaluation.
Maintain familiarity of all staff with company documentation and regulatory procedures.
Ensure administrative duties are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
In-depth knowledge and understanding of Part 145 and Part 21 regulations (CAA, EASA, FAA).
Proven aviation industry experience, with strong awareness of compliance, safety, and quality standards.
Excellent organisational, communication, and negotiation skills.
Strong technical skills with excellent proficiency in MS Office and project management tools.
Strong analytical ability with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to handle large volumes of data in a clear, structured, and accurate way.
Commitment to high-quality performance and proactive improvement initiatives.
Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workloads, and meet strict deadlines.
Team player with the ability to work independently when required.
Desirable Skills
Experience delivering compliance or regulatory training to internal and/or external staff.
Commercial awareness with proven ability to build sustainable professional relationships.
Experience Required
Significant aviation industry experience.
Strong exposure to supplier relationships and external client engagement.
Demonstrated success in driving safety, compliance, and quality culture across teams.
Hours of Work & Salary
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00 (1-hour lunch break)
Annual Leave: 20 days + 8 UK Bank Holidays
Salary: £50,000- £55,000 dependent on experience
